“Tableaux Vivants” is a video performance series, recorded with a Super 8 cine camera. Very little takes place in these small performances: a woman steps in front of the camera, takes a pose and stays still, just breathing and concentrating on being.

I am interested in using images to produce performances and on the interrelationships between different disciplines of art. Tableaux Vivants -series have a painterly aspect in their use of moving images or photography. Other themes explores include posing and composition. They call our attention to the dimension of time, whether arrested or in motion. The length of the performances is set by the duration of Super 8 film, three minutes.
