This work has three phases. In the first phase during one month I used a mini-disc recorder to record situations at home. My boyfriend did not know that I was recording (although I had his permission to do that, but he did not believe that I was really going to do that!). I used a sound-level sensitive timer to record only audible sounds so I didn’t know when the sound recording was on.

After the recording period was over, I gave the full set of mini-discs to my boyfriend and asked him to do whatever he wants with them. My request was that he would pick those situations when I am using the power and situations that irritate him and make a new mix out of them. But I emphasized that he could do whatever he wants. During that period we did not talk about the project at all.

In the last phase I am in front of the video camera listening to the manipulated tapes for the first time. This is the only part of the project that audience can see.

This work should be shown on a tv-monitor and listened with headphones.
